ASCENDCHESS does the between-lesson work no coach has time for: tracking weaknesses, structuring study, drilling patterns, keeping a player moving when you are not there. It is not trying to replace you. It cannot bring the relationship, the accountability, the tournament wisdom, or the read on a player that a human coach brings. What it does is hand you a student who arrives prepared and a clear picture of what they need, so the session is yours to spend on judgment and teaching.
When the platform has done its job well enough that a player is ready for a human coach, it points them toward one. For a serious improver, that next step is you.
Our commitment to coaches
ASCENDCHESS is built to work alongside you.
- We never tell your students they no longer need you. When a student works with you through Coach Bridge, ASCENDCHESS does not suggest other coaches to them or suggest they go without one.
- We never market to your students to pull them away from you.
- What your student shares with you stays between the two of you. Your private notes are yours alone, and none of your notes, messages or comments to your student are fed to our AI. Only a suggestion your student chooses to accept into their own plan is used to build it.
- Our AI answers to human experts. Its chess claims are checked against an engine where they can be and labeled where they have not been, and human chess experts review and correct what it teaches.
- We are honest about the trade-off. For players who would never hire a coach, ASCENDCHESS is the training they do on their own. For your students, it is the work between your lessons.
Built so coaches say yes
Coaches use the coach side of ASCENDCHESS for free. There is no portal to buy, no seat to license, and nothing for you to set up beyond accepting a student's invitation to share their work. The student's subscription covers their side of the sharing. We would rather every coach who touches the platform have a good reason to recommend it than charge you for the privilege of seeing your own students' progress.
Coach Bridge is the feature we built the platform around. It is the difference between guessing what your student did all week and knowing.

Will ASCENDCHESS replace my coach?
If you have a coach, no. ASCENDCHESS does the routine work between lessons: reviewing every game, tracking your patterns, drilling. Your coach sees it through Coach Bridge and spends lessons on what matters. If you don't have a coach, ASCENDCHESS is training you can do on your own, and it tells you when a human coach would help more. Its chess claims are checked against an engine where they can be, labeled where they have not been, and corrected by human experts when they are wrong.
